Britt Tavel is a psychotherapist located in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, whose target clientele includes college students and young professionals. With the growing awareness surrounding mental health in recent years, Britt wanted to set herself apart from other therapists in the area with a new brand identity.

After a creative kickoff meeting with Britt and looking through her brand inspiration, it became clear to me that a monogram-style “B” would be the perfect way to represent what she was looking for. To further explore the concept, I created a variety of sketches using both a standalone “B” and a combination of her initials, “B” and “T.”

Britt also wanted to incorporate a symbol that represented her practice, and we landed on a leaf, a subtle representation of growth and personal development. The final result is an elegant “B” and “T” monogram with a leaf beautifully incorporated into the top of the “B.”
